Planning Engineer

Job SummaryThe Planning Engineer will own the planning, scheduling, and progress control of solar EPC projects so they are delivered on time, resources are used efficiently, and quality and safety expectations are met. The role calls for a proactive planner with strong analytical ability and hands-on experience with project management software to support smooth project execution.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and manage project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools.Set up the work breakdown structure and sequence project activities logically.Prepare baseline schedules covering engineering, procurement, and construction stages.Continuously monitor project progress and revise schedules to reflect actual site conditions and changes.Spot delays, delivery risks, and resource constraints, then recommend corrective measures.Prepare progress updates, S-curves, dashboards, and related reporting for internal teams and clients.Work closely with project managers, site engineers, procurement teams, and subcontractors to keep timelines aligned.Conduct periodic progress review meetings to discuss status, issues, and action plans.Assess manpower, material, and equipment needs based on the approved schedule.Improve resource deployment so milestones are achieved within the expected timeline and budget.Perform schedule risk reviews to understand potential delays and their effect on delivery.Develop mitigation actions and contingency plans to reduce scheduling risks.Follow contractual obligations, quality norms, and safety requirements while planning and tracking work.Keep complete records of schedules, progress reports, and communication for audit and future use.QualificationsA bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field is required. The role asks for 4–8 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, including 2–3 years in solar or renewable energy projects.
