Role Overview
Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced Infor XA Developer for its Visakhapatnam location. The position is aimed at professionals with solid expertise in IBM i (AS/400) and prior exposure to manufacturing ERP landscapes.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and provide support for Infor XA (MAPICS) solutions and related application components.
- Develop on the IBM i platform using RPG IV (RPGLE), CL, and DB2/400.
- Adapt and improve XA areas such as manufacturing, distribution, and finance.
- Support core manufacturing workflows including production planning, stock control, and procurement operations.
- Create reports and connect systems through interfaces and integrations such as API, EDI, and MQ.
- Investigate production defects and work to keep systems stable and dependable.
- Take part in testing activities across unit testing, system integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and global teams across functions.
Requirements
- Deep hands-on experience with Infor XA / MAPICS.
- Practical knowledge of RPGLE, CL, and DB2/400.
- Strong familiarity with the IBM i (AS/400) environment.
- Background in manufacturing and supply chain processes.
- Ability to work with tools such as SEU, PDM, RDi, and X-Analyze.
- Preferred exposure to SAP or MES integrations.
- Preferred knowledge of EDI, APIs, and IBM MQ.
- Any certifications related to Infor XA, IBM i, or ITIL are an advantage.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and Agile ways of working is desirable.
- Experience level expected: 4 to 12 years.
