About the Role
This opening is for a motivated Engineer to work on tools within the PlayStation SDK that are used by game developers around the world. The work involves improving developer-facing tooling for content management, firmware updates, game code loading and execution, remote configuration, console/screen/controller logging, remote console viewing, and a distributed resource management system.
The position is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract under the Graduate Programme within the Product and Technology group. The programme is built to give early-career candidates structured experience through practical work, learning opportunities, speaker sessions with leaders and subject matter experts, and networking with other graduates across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer needs and turn them into feature or application designs.
- Estimate effort, design solutions, develop features, and deliver work within planned timelines.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix problems in both new and existing code.
- Take part in requirements and architecture discussions while working closely with other teams in an agile setup.
- Join occasional in-person workshops or team events, which may involve travel.
Requirements
- This is an entry-level role.
- A BSc or MSc in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience, is expected.
- About 1 to 2 years of programming experience in a high-level language, ideally C# or C++.
- Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
- Strong ability in debugging, profiling, and performance tuning.
- Background checks will be carried out at the offer stage, and some roles may include criminal background screening.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with UI technologies such as .NET, Avalonia, WPF, or MFC.
- Comfort using Git, TeamCity, or similar CI/CD tools and workflows.
- Exposure to dynamic scripting languages such as Python.
