Role overview
AD Ports Group is hiring a Firefighter to support emergency response and life-safety operations in Abu Dhabi. The role involves reacting quickly to incidents, safeguarding people and assets, and keeping firefighting vehicles and equipment ready for use.
Key responsibilities
- Respond promptly and safely to emergency calls, unexpected incidents, and assistance requests.
- Protect the public and company property during fires, road collisions, floods, bomb-related incidents, hazardous spillages, and rail or aircraft accidents.
- Carry out rescues of people and animals that are trapped.
- Inspect and maintain the fire appliance and its equipment, and assist with hydrant testing and checks on emergency water sources.
- Participate in drills and fitness training to strengthen operational techniques, equipment handling, and overall readiness for firefighting duties.
- Operate fire vehicles safely to locations within or outside the port, following routine maintenance and inspection requirements.
Qualifications and licensing
- A bachelor’s degree in Fire Safety, Engineering, Science, HSE, or a closely related discipline is required; a master’s degree is considered an advantage.
- Firefighter Level II certification is expected, with at least 120 hours beyond Firefighter Level I, covering fire science, suppression systems, fire behavior, fire chemistry, rescue, equipment, appliances, safety, survival, and hazmat operations, aligned with NFPA 1081. Meeting NFPA 1001 standards is additionally beneficial.
- Certified Emergency Vehicle Operations (CEVO) training of at least 16 hours is required in line with NFPA 1451 and 1002.
- A hazmat operations course of at least 24 hours is required, aligned with NFPA 472, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120, or EPA 40 CFR Part 311.
- A first responder course (OPRC Level 1) of at least 40 hours is required in accordance with IMO guidance.
- A UAE-issued driving license is required.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. The role calls for strong emergency response capability, physical fitness, and the ability to operate in high-risk situations while maintaining equipment readiness.
