About the RoleMeril is hiring an Embedded Hardware Engineer to build reliable hardware platforms for advanced robotic systems. This position focuses on power electronics, motor control circuits, sensing, communication, and multilayer PCB design for robotics and automation products.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign embedded hardware solutions for robotics and automation applications.Create power electronics circuits for motor drives, battery management, power distribution, and DC-DC conversion.Develop schematics and multilayer PCB layouts, including designs built on at least 6 layers.Select components, run circuit simulations, and validate hardware performance.Build interfaces for sensors, actuators, communication modules, and embedded controllers.Coordinate with firmware and robotics software teams to integrate complete systems.Carry out board bring-up, troubleshooting, testing, and performance tuning.Make sure designs meet EMC/EMI, safety, thermal, and reliability standards.Support prototype builds, manufacturing readiness, and product release activities.Prepare design records, BOMs, test documentation, and engineering change notes.Required Skills and ExperienceStrong background in embedded hardware design.Solid knowledge of power electronics and power control systems.Practical experience with 6-layer and other multilayer PCB layouts.Experience designing high-current and high-power circuits.Familiarity with DC-DC converters, SMPS, battery-powered systems, and power management circuits.Ability to design motor driver and actuator control hardware.Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, grounding, and thermal handling.Working knowledge of CAN, CAN-FD, SPI, I2C, UART, RS485, Ethernet, and EtherCAT.Hands-on use of hardware debug tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and power analyzers.Preferred BackgroundExposure to robotics, humanoid robots, autonomous mobile robots, industrial automation, or electric mobility.Experience with STM32, NXP, TI, Microchip, or similar embedded platforms.Awareness of functional safety and EMC/EMI compliance requirements.Exposure to battery management systems and motor control hardware.Experience with high-speed digital design and mixed-signal circuits.Tools and TechnologiesCommonly used tools include Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, KiCad, OrCAD, LTspice/PSpice, and preferably MATLAB/Simulink.EducationA B.E., B.Tech, M.E., or M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related discipline is expected.Work Mode and LocationThis is an on-site role based in Vapi, Gujarat, India.IndustryThe role sits within robotics engineering, robot manufacturing, and electrical equipment manufacturing.
