About the Role
We are seeking a sharp, detail-focused junior-level Data Analyst to join the team in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The role involves helping the business make informed decisions by gathering, cleaning, analysing, and interpreting data. You will work with multiple teams to identify trends, prepare reporting, and turn data into practical business insights. This role is well suited to someone who wants to begin or grow a career in data analytics and business intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Gather, clean, and structure data from multiple sources.
- Examine datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and useful business insights.
- Create reports, dashboards, and visual summaries for internal stakeholders.
- Assist teams with data-backed decision-making.
- Help maintain accurate, high-quality, and reliable data.
- Work with colleagues on data initiatives and process enhancements.
- Track key performance indicators and share regular progress updates.
- Record findings, analysis, and recommendations in a clear format.
Requirements
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Careful approach with a strong eye for detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of data analysis methods and statistics.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work alone as well as collaboratively.
- Willingness to learn and develop data analysis capabilities.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Exposure to Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools is an advantage.
- Internships, academic projects, or previous experience in a data-related role will be helpful.
- Knowledge of databases and data visualisation concepts is beneficial.
