Role Overview
This position is for a Business Development Representative supporting a highly selective network of recognized thought leaders. The goal of the role is to create early-stage relationships with large, complex organizations and help uncover opportunities where expert guidance can influence important decisions and outcomes.
The role is fully remote, with a preference for candidates working in US Eastern Time. In the beginning, the focus will be split across speaking and advisory opportunities in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC, with only limited APAC coverage expected at first.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required. Candidates should ideally bring at least 2 years of experience in B2B outbound sales, SDR/BDR work, or a closely related function. Prior success in generating pipeline in B2B or SaaS environments is important. Experience in business development, consulting, research, executive search, or similar fields will be considered an advantage.
What You Will Do
You will build new enterprise relationships through targeted outbound outreach and work closely with Account Executives to create well-qualified opportunities. Outreach may include phone, email, LinkedIn, and selected industry events where appropriate.
- Identify and connect with Global 1000 companies through thoughtful outreach.
- Start conversations with stakeholders such as event leaders, strategy and transformation leaders, innovation leaders, and L&D, talent, or leadership development professionals.
- Tailor outreach to each organization’s context rather than relying on generic messaging.
- Prioritize relationship-building and longer-term engagement, not just immediate meeting booking.
- Target 8 to 12 qualified discovery meetings each month.
- Evaluate inbound and outbound leads based on strategic fit, relevance of upcoming business moments, and clarity around the decision-making group.
- Partner with Account Executives to align on target accounts, verticals, and speaker priorities.
- Refine outreach messaging using insights from real conversations.
- Ensure qualified opportunities are handed over smoothly and thoughtfully.
- Build a strong understanding of each target account, including business priorities, key initiatives, upcoming events, and decision-makers.
- Keep HubSpot records accurate and detailed, including interaction history and lead stage updates.
- Use HubSpot and other enablement tools to personalize outreach, support follow-up, and improve team visibility.
- Represent the company and its speakers with professionalism, curiosity, and credibility.
- Act as an informed first point of contact that reflects strong judgment and intellectual depth.
- May occasionally take part in industry events or forums to strengthen relationships and gather market intelligence.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary is $65,000 to $75,000, depending on experience and location. Performance-based bonuses and accelerators are available for strong results, which can increase total compensation. Final pay will depend on qualifications, experience, geographic location, and broader market and benefits considerations.
Benefits, subject to plan availability, eligibility, and applicable law, include fully remote work, health insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, a 401(k) with 4% match, dependent care flex spending account, EAP, company-funded learning, self-funded dental, vision, cancer and accident coverage, birthday off, unlimited PTO, and about 10 company-paid holidays each year.
Additional Notes
The role emphasizes high-quality outreach, thoughtful relationship development, and careful CRM hygiene. It is designed for someone who can work independently, communicate with senior stakeholders, and represent the organization in a polished and credible way.
