Role Overview
The Warehouse Coordinator will be responsible for supporting inventory control, warehouse administration, stock accuracy, and process compliance. The position requires real-time system processing, close attention to stock levels, and consistent application of warehouse, quality, security, and safety standards.
Key Accountabilities
- Keep inventory levels balanced so that stockholding costs stay low without affecting production or maintenance needs.
- Receive, track, and issue warehouse stock through SAP on the same day the transaction occurs.
- Verify that supplier deliveries meet the quantity and quality commitments stated on purchase orders at the time of receipt.
- Raise rejection notes for items that do not meet specification and ensure suppliers either replace the goods or issue a credit note.
- Check warehouse reports regularly to confirm that all movements and transactions are complete and accurate.
- Operate the warehouse in line with EABL warehouse procedures, Diageo physical security requirements, quality standards, risk standards, and CARM guidelines.
- Review the warehouse daily for cleanliness and correct storage arrangement of materials and spare parts in line with 5S practices.
- Prepare for, take part in, and follow up on periodic stock counts, including count-sheet preparation, physical-to-book reconciliation, and variance investigation.
- Carry out routine SKU reconciliations using the standard template and follow up on any physical versus book discrepancies according to the required frequency.
- Apply Diageo health and safety rules consistently during all warehouse activities, both for personal safety and the safety of others.
- Support the planning, development, and delivery of warehouse improvement projects.
- Independently handle the warehouse activities assigned to the Warehouse Coordinator role using SAP in real time.
- Monitor warehouse reports on a regular basis and resolve issues identified through those reports.
Experience and Skills Required
- A degree in a business-related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in inventory management, preferably within the FMCG sector.
- Graduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of SAP will be beneficial.
