Role overview
An industrial testing engineer is needed to validate complex electrical and mechanical systems used in robotic solutions for coating applications. The position is suited to someone with solid hands-on exposure to design-oriented engineering work and experience in sectors such as metal fabrication, pipe coating, heavy engineering, or industrial manufacturing.
The employer’s client is a US-based organization that delivers robotic coating services for onshore and offshore pipelines, refineries, and other industrial facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out functional, performance, and safety checks on robotic systems and their subsystems.
- Create and run test plans, procedures, and protocols for electrical and mechanical parts.
- Work with design and integration teams by sharing observations and feedback from testing.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve electro-mechanical faults in robotic equipment.
- Record test outcomes, unusual findings, and corrective steps in a structured way.
- Partner with engineering, operations, and quality teams to close technical issues.
- Make sure testing activities align with internal standards and relevant safety regulations.
- Help develop, install, and maintain test rigs and automated data-acquisition setups for electronic and mechanical systems.
- Join field trials and on-site system testing when needed.
- Contribute ideas to improve testing methods and overall product quality.
Required background and skills
- 7 to 8 years of experience in testing, preferably involving electro-mechanical industrial equipment.
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar discipline.
- Work experience in metal manufacturing and fabrication, pipe coating, heavy engineering, or industrial manufacturing is required.
- Strong analytical ability and a practical, solution-focused approach to technical problems.
- Good command of electrical and mechanical system testing and validation.
- Knowledge of wiring, circuit testing, and electrical safety practices.
- Understanding of mechanical assemblies, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Capability to diagnose and fix hardware-level and system-level issues.
- Hands-on use of test instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and data-acquisition tools.
- Exposure to sensors, data loggers, and measurement equipment.

- Monthly salary of SAR 10,675, inclusive of food allowance.

This is a permanent, full-time onsite position based in Abqaiq, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia.
