This position is preferably based in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, although candidates located in Auckland may also be considered.

Role overview

The business is seeking an experienced Supply Planner to take charge of supply and production planning for its canned and wet-product range. The role is responsible for ensuring customer demand is met through strong production planning, inventory optimisation, and close coordination with internal manufacturing teams and an external toll manufacturing partner.

The ideal person will be commercially aware, highly organised, and confident working through complex planning challenges. You should be comfortable balancing priorities, using data to guide decisions, and operating in a fast-moving environment. A collaborative attitude, clear communication style, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to get hands-on are important, along with a positive contribution to team culture.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain supply plans that align demand, inventory targets, and manufacturing capacity.
• Work closely with the toll manufacturing partner to ensure production plans are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Raise and track manufacturing and raw-material purchase orders to maintain continuity of supply across the portfolio.
• Review inventory results, service performance, and planning metrics such as DIFOT and SLOB, then take action to lift performance.
• Assess changes in demand, production limitations, and supply risks, and develop workable solutions and backup plans.
• Build strong working relationships across Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Customer Experience, Sales, and Finance to support aligned decisions.
• Look for ways to improve planning processes, systems, and ways of working as the business continues to grow.
• Contribute positively to a high-energy, high-performing team environment.

Experience and skills required

• Background in supply planning, production planning, or supply chain planning, ideally within FMCG or manufacturing.
• Strong ERP system knowledge and advanced Excel capability.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence across the organisation.
• Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and a genuine interest in problem solving.
