Role overview
This opportunity is for a seasoned project leader with a background in data centre delivery. The position focuses on steering complex infrastructure programmes from start to finish, with particular attention to systems such as power, cooling, networking, and physical/security infrastructure in data centre environments.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of data centre projects from the earliest stages through final completion.
- Create and maintain project plans covering scope, timelines, budgets, and staffing needs.
- Work closely with teams across IT, facilities, and external suppliers to keep execution aligned.
- Track project milestones, performance, and delivery quality to ensure deadlines and standards are met.
- Spot project risks and delivery issues early, then put mitigation measures in place.
- Compile progress updates and communicate status clearly to stakeholders.
- Make sure the project follows applicable regulations and industry requirements.
- Keep documentation organized and records accurate throughout the project lifecycle.
- Promote teamwork and maintain a constructive, cooperative working environment.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or another relevant discipline is required.
- Professional certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is considered a strong advantage.
- At least 10 years of project management experience, specifically including data centre projects.
- Experience working in the UAE is highly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including power, cooling, networking, and security systems.
- Strong history of delivering large, complex initiatives on schedule and within budget.
- Leadership ability and people-management skills are essential.
- Good analytical thinking and the ability to solve problems effectively are needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, along with strong interpersonal skills.
- Comfort working under pressure while handling several priorities at once.
- Hands-on ability with project management tools and software.
Preferred knowledge
- Familiarity with data centre standards and best practices, including Uptime Institute guidance and TIA-942.
- Exposure to ITIL principles and service management concepts is an added plus.
