Packaging Operator

About the Role

We are seeking a Packaging Operator to run and support packaging equipment and related processes so that product quality remains consistent, output stays high, and material waste is kept to a minimum.

This position is based in Arusha, Tanzania, and is suited to someone who is passionate, curious, and ready to contribute to a collaborative environment focused on doing great work together.

Key Responsibilities

• Run the packaging line and ensure the process operates smoothly.
• Carry out machine start-up, shutdown, and normal running activities, including waste handling.
• Manage brand and pack changeovers.
• Help maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
• Perform thorough cleaning and basic first-line maintenance on equipment.
• Track process performance and monitor production output.
• Carry out quality inspections during production.
• Observe the production process and regulate inputs where needed.
• Take corrective action when deviations or issues are identified.
• Work effectively as part of the team.
• Communicate with customers and suppliers as required.
• Support troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.

Required Competencies

• Ability to notice and respond quickly when a process moves out of control.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working as part of a team and taking initiative independently.
• Clear and effective communication skills.

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical studies.
• Trade Test certification in Mechanical or Electrical.
• Willingness and ability to work shifts.
• Prior experience in a packaging process environment.
