Role overview
South West Water is hiring a Meter Reader for its Exeter team. This is a permanent, full-time field-based position with a salary of £26,914 plus a benefits package. The role involves travelling throughout the Exeter area, including EX1 to EX12, to read water meters and help ensure customers receive accurate bills.
What the role involves
- Accurately taking and logging water meter readings
- Interacting with customers in a polite and helpful manner
- Organising daily routes and managing time effectively
- Working toward daily reading targets
- Flagging faulty meters or any other problems discovered on the route
- Looking after the van and equipment assigned for the job
- Following health and safety procedures consistently
