Role overview

South West Water is hiring a Meter Reader for its Exeter team. This is a permanent, full-time field-based position with a salary of £26,914 plus a benefits package. The role involves travelling throughout the Exeter area, including EX1 to EX12, to read water meters and help ensure customers receive accurate bills.

What the role involves

• Accurately taking and logging water meter readings
• Interacting with customers in a polite and helpful manner
• Organising daily routes and managing time effectively
• Working toward daily reading targets
• Flagging faulty meters or any other problems discovered on the route
• Looking after the van and equipment assigned for the job
• Following health and safety procedures consistently

• A full UK driving licence is essential
• Comfortable speaking with customers and representing the company professionally
• Self-motivated and able to work independently outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong planning and organisation skills, with the ability to meet targets
