Role overview
Leigh & Co. Events is expanding quickly and is hiring wedding planners for its 2026 season and beyond. This contract role is designed for someone who wants to take the lead on wedding-day coordination, work largely on location, and choose a schedule that fits their availability. The company offers training and compensates this role at $400 per project for an estimated 10 to 12 hours of work.
What you will do
As the lead planner on-site, you will partner with the client experience team and assistant coordinators to keep weddings running smoothly from start to finish.
- Join the final details call about six weeks before the wedding to review logistics, the timeline, and client expectations.
- Run the rehearsal the day before the wedding so everyone understands timing, procession order, and important cues.
- Act as the couple’s main on-site point of contact, staying calm and solution-oriented if issues come up.
- Supervise ceremony and reception setup so the event matches the approved design and execution plan.
- Oversee the full wedding-day flow, beginning with vendor arrival and ending with final breakdown.
- Welcome vendors, direct them as needed, and serve as the central communication point on-site.
- Explain setup instructions to vendors clearly so everything aligns with the event plan.
- Help place personal and event items such as escort cards, menus, table numbers, favors, guest books, and décor details.
- Support the wedding party and family members with timing guidance, cues, and day-of assistance.
- Make sure end-of-event belongings such as gifts, guest books, and personal décor are collected, packed, and accounted for.
- Handle last-minute changes and resolve issues proactively to keep the guest experience seamless.
Requirements
- You must be available to work weekends.
- You need at least 2 years of experience in wedding planning or event planning.
- Strong communication skills and careful attention to detail are required.
- You should have dependable transportation.
- You must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
