Business Analyst

Role overview

HDFC securities is hiring a Business Analyst in Mumbai to work closely with business teams, improve systems and workflows, and support data-led decision-making across functions.

Objectives of the role

• Spot business requirements across departments and identify weak or inefficient system processes by reviewing live data.
• Act as a subject-matter guide for technical business workflows and create system prototypes that improve productivity and efficiency.
• Design and roll out clear project management plans, ensuring communication stays open and transparent at every stage.
• Carry out, review, and share quality checks throughout the system development lifecycle.
• Define and refine user requirements for live systems so they are easy to use and effective.

Key responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders from different business areas to produce analysis and documentation in a cooperative manner, while maintaining effective communication with operational, managerial, and executive teams.
• Continuously assess, interpret, and communicate system requirements, while keeping system processes updated and sharing monthly status reports with relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare, revise, and maintain internal as well as external documentation, and formally raise and hand over requirements and related documents.
• Perform day-to-day system analysis to improve performance and resolve issues.
• Build strong working relationships with partners to support better system integration, and respond to leadership queries with research-backed recommendations.
• Develop UAT scenarios, test cases, and test data that match the defined processes.
• Run UAT rounds and validate outcomes during testing.
• Monitor, record, and manage UAT defects, working with development teams to close issues.

Required experience and skills

• 3 to 6 years of experience in analytics and systems development.
• Strong command of SQL.
• Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Experience preparing process documents and reports.
• Working knowledge of the capital markets domain.
• Understanding of equity, derivatives, mutual fund, and commodities trade settlement.

Preferred qualifications

• B.E., B.Tech, MCA, or a graduation degree.
• Very good communication skills with the ability to convert data into practical business insights.

This is an on-site role based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
