About the role
CORDE is seeking a skilled Grader Operator to support maintenance grading work across the Waimakariri District Council road maintenance network in Canterbury, New Zealand. The role suits someone with solid experience operating graders and a strong understanding of road construction methods and standard specifications.
This is an important hands-on position that offers a good level of autonomy, day-to-day responsibility, and the chance to take ownership of your work. You’ll need to work efficiently, maintain quality standards, and adapt easily to a varied workload.
If you are a capable, adaptable operator who enjoys practical work and brings a broad skill set to the table, this could be a strong fit.
Role expectations
- Carry out maintenance grading on the Waimakariri District Council road network.
- Operate graders confidently across a range of site conditions and tasks.
- Work productively while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Take responsibility for daily tasks and deliver work safely and efficiently.
Skills and experience sought
- Proven ability to operate graders in a multi-skilled capacity.
- Understanding of road building processes and relevant specifications.
- Class 4 driver licence.
- Class 5 driver licence preferred.
- WTR endorsements.
- STMS Level 1 preferred, with training available for the right person.
- Good physical fitness and self-motivation.
- Strong commitment to health and safety, with a positive attitude.
