Overview

Barclays is hiring a Developer - Data Analytics for its Pune location, with the role focused on strengthening digital capabilities and improving customer experiences through modern data and analytics solutions. The position involves building reliable, scalable technology that supports business and platform needs.

Core responsibilities

• Develop and deliver high-quality software and analytics solutions using appropriate engineering tools, frameworks, and programming methods, with attention to scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineering peers to define requirements, shape solution approaches, and ensure smooth alignment with business goals.
• Participate in peer reviews and contribute to a team culture that values code quality, shared learning, and technical improvement.
• Keep up with technology trends and contribute to internal technical communities to support innovation and continuous growth.
• Follow secure coding practices to reduce vulnerabilities and safeguard sensitive information.
• Apply unit testing discipline to improve code structure, readability, and reliability.
• Provide support, troubleshooting, and training for JIRA users.
• Build and maintain data architectures and pipelines that move and process durable, complete, and consistent data.
• Design and implement data warehouses and data lakes that handle the right data volumes and velocity while meeting security requirements.
• Develop processing and analysis algorithms suited to the complexity and scale of the data.
• Collaborate with data scientists to create and deploy machine learning models.

Required experience and qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Strong command of DAX and Power Query.
• Solid SQL skills along with data modeling expertise.
• Experience working with enterprise-level data sources.
• Strong analytical abilities and effective communication skills.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication.

Preferred skills

• Background in banking or financial services.
• Exposure to Azure data services.
• Familiarity with Tableau or similar business intelligence tools.
• Understanding of data governance and security principles.
