Job Location and Shift
This role is based at the warehouse located at 9 Tantramar Crescent, Amherst, Nova Scotia B4H 4J3. The shift is in the afternoon.
Compensation
The hourly wage for this position is between $17.15 and $19.15.
Role Overview
The Break Pack / QC Processor supports both inbound and outbound warehouse activity through manual and system-based work. The position involves handling several functional areas such as breakpack, breakdown, put away, replenishment, quality control, staging, loading, and shipping. The goal is to keep warehouse operations moving efficiently, make good use of available space, and complete work under the guidance of a warehouse lead, supervisor, or manager.
Key Duties
- Accept vendor purchase orders and process customer returns.
- Handle outbound orders quickly enough to meet scheduled truck departures.
- Pick and stock items accurately.
- Wrap, sort, and load orders for shipment.
- Keep assigned warehouse areas clean and orderly.
- Follow all safety rules and procedures while performing daily tasks.
Qualifications
- Prior warehouse experience is an advantage, though it is not mandatory.
- Ability to become certified on warehouse equipment and use it safely.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, direction-following, and time-management skills.
- Comfort working as part of a team.
- A valid G licence is preferred for the loader role.
Physical and Working Conditions
This position requires moderate physical activity and steady use of motor skills and manual dexterity. Work regularly includes sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The role may involve lifting, lowering, or carrying items up to 50 pounds by hand. Noise levels in the work environment are generally moderate.
