Role overview
Join a community-focused coffee business as a shift supervisor, where you will lead daily store shifts and work alongside baristas to deliver a high-quality customer experience through excellent service, beverages, and products. The role sits within Cobra Coffee, a Starbucks UK franchised partner, and is designed for someone who enjoys hands-on leadership in a fast-moving retail or hospitality setting.
The company places emphasis on colleague wellbeing, development, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. You will be part of both the Starbucks family and the Cobra Coffee team, with opportunities to build skills and grow your career through internal progression and learning resources.
What you'll do
- Lead shifts with customers at the centre, supporting your team to create memorable Starbucks experiences.
- Work with the Store Manager to run effective shifts, guide partners, and encourage strong team performance.
- Allocate tasks, organise priorities, and help drive store profitability through smart shift planning.
- Motivate the team, spot potential issues early, and resolve problems quickly to protect the customer experience.
- Use everyday situations as coaching opportunities and share practical best practices with colleagues.
- Oversee store operations during assigned shifts, including opening and closing procedures.
- Make sure Starbucks policies and procedures are followed, especially around cash handling, safety, and security.
- Prepare beverages and food to the required standards while following recipe, presentation, hygiene, health, and sanitation rules.
Experience needed
You should already have previous coaching or supervisory experience in a customer-facing role. Experience leading operational work in retail or hospitality will be helpful, especially if you are used to solving problems in real time and keeping a team focused during busy periods.
Working pattern
The stores operate in a fast-paced environment, so shifts may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
