Role Summary

As Facility Manager, you will ensure that the site portfolio runs smoothly by providing facility management services that are efficient, cost-conscious, and aligned with business needs. The role covers both day-to-day operations and longer-term planning to protect asset performance, strengthen reliability, and maintain safe, compliant sites.

In this position, you will also serve as the FM Category Manager with end-to-end ownership of FM categories. That includes supplier oversight, maintenance strategy, lifecycle planning, energy-focused improvements, and close coordination with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for the FM scope, including energy and utilities, cleaning, waste and pest control, technical installations, general building upkeep, and shopfitting maintenance.
  • Act as the FM Category Manager by defining category strategy, setting standards, guiding suppliers, measuring performance, and improving cost and service quality across the portfolio in line with global FM direction.
  • Introduce proactive maintenance approaches tailored to store segmentation and customer/colleague needs.
  • Support or lead the sourcing and procurement of facility service providers, while working closely with the Procurement Specialist as needed.
  • Ensure vendors and landlords meet contractual obligations and deliver services to the expected quality level.
  • Track market developments and new technologies to identify solutions that fit company needs.
  • Assess portfolio condition, determine investment requirements, and plan actions that extend asset life and improve lifecycle performance.
  • Prepare preventive maintenance plans for MEP and C&I requirements to support a strong customer experience.
  • Create and maintain facility plans that address both scheduled and reactive work while meeting internal and external requirements.
  • Keep asset records, reactive work data, preventive maintenance data, lifecycle Capex/Opex planning, and project information accurate and up to date in the global FM system, Planon.
  • Monitor site energy use, report findings, and drive energy-saving initiatives that reduce consumption and costs while meeting global energy targets.
  • Make sure facility activities stay aligned with business priorities and recommend practical solutions as operational needs change.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or another related discipline.
  • Facility Management or Project Management certification is considered an advantage.
  • For hard FM category management, a background in mechanical or technical engineering is preferred in markets where HVAC/VT falls under C&F responsibility.
  • For soft FM category management, business administration education is ideal, and prior experience in soft FM supplier roles such as contract management or key account management is beneficial.
  • Strong capability in supplier management and FM category management.
  • Hands-on experience with CAFM platforms, such as Planon.
  • At least 3 years of experience in facility management, construction, and/or real estate.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier management, contract management, and FM category management.
  • Proven ability in activity-based budgeting and operational planning.
  • Energy management experience is an added advantage.
  • Retail-sector exposure and experience in large international organizations are preferred.
